For this Arizona engagement session I landed in Phoenix on a hot June day. I had never been to Phoenix before and I’ve heard it’s hot…. but goodness gracious, it was HOT. My sweet friend Emily and her fiancĂ© Andrew picked me up from the airport and we headed North. Andrew grew up in Arizona and Emily grew up in Colorado so for their engagement session they wanted to find somewhere that encompassed all the things they loved about both these beautiful places.
We winded through fields of cacti and watched the temperature drop to a lovely 80 degrees. Two hours later we ended up in the ‘Heart of Arizona’ surrounded by the Tonto National Forest. We started at a lake where Emily and Andrew skipped rocks and walked along the waterline. An epic view of the sunset was a must so we wandered as far ‘up’ as we could to a ridge that had a beautiful view. Emily and Andrew walked through forests of tall trees where sunlight leaked through the leaves. Finally, finding cliffs on the side of the ridge to sit and watch the hot Arizona sun disappear. It was such a magical afternoon and I couldn’t be more thankful for a job that connects me to friends, near and far.
