This Buena Vista engagement started out with a little bit of fate. Ally and Doug contacted me asking if I would be willing to drive to Buena Vista for their engagement session. (Apparently my website still said I was located in Denver… oops.) I wrote back, “THIS IS A SIGN I LIVE IN BUENA VISTA COME NOW 1000% YESSSS.” or something along these lines. A couple months later we were all together on a beautiful, warm afternoon.
We started a few miles outside of Buena Vista for some mountain views and made our way close to town. Ally’s family has a house on the outskirts of town where she has beautiful memories of growing up. Now Ally and Doug love weekends together in the mountains at this same house. There’s an old, giant bridge along the train tracks that is celebrating its’ 100 birthday this year that Ally has stories of her playing on this bridge as a child. We walked the tracks as they told me how they met and fell in love all the way to their proposal story. Ally and Doug are full of so much kindness which radiates in their love for one another. The sun dropped behind the mountains and it couldn’t have been a more perfect night.
I love when couples pick a location that means something personal to them and their love story. To make your engagement session as meaningful as possible pick a location that is special to you or an activity that feels like your favorite date together. It makes your images that much more personal and genuine.
