About Kelsey
This Fort Collins lifestyle shoot was special. I have known Kelsey for the majority of my life as she is my best friend Jenae’s younger sister. As kids she was “Jenae’s sister” who bopped around in the background of almost all my memories. As we have grown though, she has become a friend and someone I adore and respect deeply.
We did this fun shoot to celebrate her finishing cosmetology school this October. I took her senior pictures when she was graduating from high school almost 5 years ago. Not only was it fun to see how I have evolved as a photographer but more importantly amazing to see how she has evolved as a person. She is confident and vivacious in her career path and you can feel her passion in advocating for true self love and acceptance in the way she not only carries herself but treats others. She is full of joy and sass and SO fun to be around. I’m just so stinkin’ proud of her and thankful to know her.
I also can’t wait to stop cutting my own hair in the bathroom sink with crafting scissors and have her make my hair fab. Seriously, be on the lookout for her! (I’m secretly hoping she’ll start doing wedding hair and makeup and help all my brides get ready for their weddings. DAMN DREAM.)
The Shoot
For this Fort Collins lifestyle shoot we picked a few favorite spots around town that she loves. We started in a field near Horsetooth and soaked up the golden sunshine. We then made our way to Old Town and found some sweet urban details. Kelsey wore an unbelievable cheetah collared shirt and western inspired hat for one of her outfits that were to die for. Really felt like a Beyoncé-Shania vibe that I’ve been looking for and couldn’t get enough of.
