Cabo Wedding | Kelly and Shaun

Kelly and Shaun thought about having a wedding at home in Colorado. If you’ve ever met Kelly and Shaun, they are two of the most intentional, welcoming, inclusive, and quite simply two of the best people I’ve ever met. They thought long and hard and decided they wanted their wedding to encompass all the things that mattered most to them. Their favorite people in one big house with days of celebration full of as much joy as possible. What better place to do just that than MEXICO!

They started their Cabo wedding celebrations with a sunset boat ride turned epic booze cruise. Everyone dressed in their best tropical chic attire and we made our way out into the ocean with the sun dropping into the water while Kelly and Shaun’s loved ones drank cold beers and tangy margaritas. As soon as the sun went down the party turned up. I’m not sure there is any better way to start a wedding weekend than with a dance party on a boat.

We woke up to waves crashing and the sun shining. Today was their dreamy Cabo wedding that would be full of belly laughs, happy tears, salty kisses, the truest “I do’s”, tequila, and so much love. Kelly watched boats head out to sea while she had her hair and makeup done and her girls laughed, danced, and helped one another get ready. Shaun and his groomsmen had a slow morning playing pool and drinking cold beers. The smiles were contagious and there was undeniable joy in the air. Kelly put on her stunning Madi Lane dress and finishing details with the help of her sweet mom and main maid, Mel. She topped off her look with an unreal lace skirt overlay.

They met at the beach. Kelly walked down the cobblestone path that lead to a grove of palm trees where Shaun faced the water. We took portraits with white sand beneath our feet and the Pacific ocean in the background. The rest of the day was SO FUN and full of more beautiful moments than I can count. After the ceremony, laughter of family and friends and clinking glasses filled the warm, humid air as we transitioned into the reception. At sun set we snuck Kelly and shaun away to the rooftop lookout. They danced under the quickly changing pink sky and we watch the sun dip into the ocean. The night ended with incredible food and drinks, heartfelt toasts and the best dance party ever.

I ended up staying up after most of the guests had made their way to sleep. I sat on the kitchen table with one of the bridesmaids and we talked about life and love and everything in between. We had cold Pacifico’s and left over wedding food surrounding our tired but happy feet. We heard giggles and watched as Kelly and Shaun snuck out of their room for a (long after) midnight snack. Kelly hugged us and said, “I just can’t stop crying, today was literally the best day of my life- everything was perfect”. It felt like a gift to hear. As a wedding photographer, this is the most important thing I’ll ever hear.

This perfect Cabo wedding was made possible by so many incredible vendors!!
