You may have caught my last blog post of Emily and Andrew’s Arizona engagement session and instantly fallen for how sweet these two are together. Well if so, hold onto your hats folks because here is their intimate, backyard Heber City wedding!
First, I have to talk about something important. Emily and Andrew had originally booked me for a larger wedding at a church in Phoenix. I got a call from Emily three months before their wedding date asking if I would be available to come to Utah instead for a small backyard wedding. Ok. This is big, this is a huge change. This is SO IMPORTANT. As your photographer, I will always advocate for you to do exactly what you want, how you want, when you want. It is your wedding day and likely the only one you will have. Please please please make it exactly what your big, full, unique hearts want! That’s exactly what Emily and Andrew did and wowowow was it perfect for them!

This day started out at a quant hotel in Heber City with aspen leaves shimmering through the windows. Emily’s sister did her makeup while her mom and nieces laughter floated throughout the room. Andrew spent his morning with close friends, excited for what the day held.
Emily and Andrew met for their first look under a large, shaded tree. Andrew turned around to see Emily for the first time. He had a small photo attached to his boutonniere of Emily’s father who passed away when she was in high school. Andrew wrote her dad a letter that he read to Emily before their ceremony filling him in on all the best details of the day and the ways he would love Emily forever. It was one of the sweetest, most special moments I have witnessed. I captured it all through teary eyes and love that Emily and Andrew will have photos to remember such a beautiful memory forever.
Finally, it was time for their intimate backyard ceremony decorated with white chairs, flowers, and all their closest friends and family. The warm Utah sun set in the background and they gave private vows to one another while music played. After celebrating, we wondered through golden hour to catch magical portraits of them. We came back to the perfect smell of pizza and donuts filling the air as the reception began. Emily and her step dad did the most epic first dance, speeches were made, and love was celebrated. Check out all this Heber City wedding love. This day couldn’t have been more perfect for Emily and Andrew.
Thank you so much to all the vendors that made Emily and Andrew’s wedding vision come to life!
